2012 Bands
Announcing the lineup for this year's Croxfest! Please note that times may be subject to change.
V1
A young, talented, local band who play a variety of covers from the Indie rock genre and also play many unique originals.
They are currently preparing to record their debut E.P later on this year, featuring four well written songs for such young musicians.
Simply Vintage
A talented six piece covers band playing music your kids won't have heard first time around.
With Keyboards, Bass, Drums and two Guitars there is comprehensive overall sound. From Country to Rock, from Blues to Ballads
Colvex
Colvex are a 3 piece band who tirelessly churn out punchy melodic rock with twists of trad jazz and rockabilly thrown in for added thrills. Colvex quickly became one of the hottest draws on the London live circuit, turning in some sensational live shows and instantly recognisable from their sharp-dressed 'Three Guys In Ties' look.
Telstar
Telstar are a four piece alternative rock band from Watford, Hertfordshire. They formed in early 2011 and went on to win the MMG three counties battle of the bands later that year and now play various venues around the UK but are based primarily in London. Their sound mixes interesting chord progressions, with gritty poetic lyrics and tempo changes that take you from swaying from side to side, to tapping your foot and banging your head.
Late Day Breakers
An innovative four piece band playing high energy reggae-rock with three part vocal harmonies and fun summer vibes! They are regularly playing venues in and around London as well as their local music venues such as The Horns, Watford. Late Day Breakers always ensure their audience's feet don't stop moving, with clever tempo changes, unexpected drops and audience participation tricks.
The Swerves
The Swerves play modern music as if their lives depended on it. There are five of them, of differing shapes and sizes, and none of them are getting any younger. They set out with the intention of playing covers from the last ten years. Then they found out that the songs they liked were written twenty years ago. So they chucked them in as well.
Damo, Matt, Russ, Rupe and Danny are all Swerves. They only got together a year ago, so have mercy on their poor unrehearsed souls. Up til now the biggest gig they've played is one half of a pub, while the other half was watching the Olympics. They all come from Reading, apart from Danny. No-one knows where he comes from, but he's got a van and he brings the average age way down, so he's in.
Caution Horses
The Caution Horses is a 7-piece country/pop band playing original music as well as some well chosen covers. This exciting festival band evolved from the original Caution Horses duo of lead vocalists, Ray and Lauren. The band’s combination of guitars, banjo and double bass along with a unique rhythm section and four-part vocal harmonies, gives the ‘Horses’ a contemporary but rootsy sound which always gets the crowd on their feet.
The Scratch
Indie, psychadellic punk band on the way up!
"The Scratch do eccentric English rock ‘n’ roll with weird but catchy riffs over the top of it all. At times dark and other times funny." - Marco Pirroni.
If you haven't seen them, the question is… Aren't you curious?
Wired
Wired has been entertaining audiences since 2004 and have grown from strength to strength. Their list of songs cover classics from the 60s right up to today's current hits.
"What a night. You made it. We think you did a lot of the tracks better than the originals! Thanks again!" - Alan, The Horns, Watford
Flutatious
Back by popular demand! With their unique sound Flutatious have been gaining interest from various parts of the industry but still enjoy the freedom of being truly independent; self produced, managed and promoted. They have had headline slots at Ecofest, Knockengorroch, Alchemy and Waveform festivals. It has been said that "Flutatious are one of the bands dragging folk/rock into the 21st century…"
